Vulnerable Dems Targeted by Both Parties in Health Care Debate

Folks on both sides of the aisle are pressuring vulnerable Democrats to side with them in the debate over nationalizing health care. These Blue Dog Democrats come from traditionally “Red” states and will likely face significant challenges in securing their incumbencies in their upcoming elections.

These red states are:

  • Alaska
  • Arkansas
  • Indiana
  • Louisiana
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • South Dakota
  • Virginia

Their constituents will likely oppose a state-sponsored health care system, creating a conflict of interests when their liberal colleagues demand support for Sen. Kennedy’s “American Health Choices Act.”

Stay tuned to Healthcare Horserace, as we bring you situational analysis and updates on the key players in each of these states during the battle over nationalizing health care.
